Bound to Vengeance: Blu-Ray Review
Arriving on Blu-ray this week is the thriller “Bound to Vengeance”, starring Tina Ivlev, Richard Tyson (who will always be the “Kindergarten Cop” villain to me) and directed by José Manuel Cravioto. I heard a some good things about this one after it played earlier this year during the Sundance Film Festival and I must say, it’s pretty damn good.
After being chained and abused in a basement for 9 months, Eve (Ivlev) is able to get free. Instead of running away however, she takes her psychotic captive, Phil (Tyson) prisoner and forces him to take her to the different locations he has girls stored away. of course Eve inflicts as much pain on Phil whenever she has the chance.
Eve’s first few attempts as rescuing girls don’t go over so well, but she does manage to free Lea (Bianca Malinowski), who in turn helps Eve rescue more girls. However, the deeper they go, the more Eve realizes that this is much bigger than just one sick individual.
“Bound to Vengeance” has the benefit of having a great cast, especially Tyson who is so good at being deranged. Ivlev also holds her own as the victim who is pretty tough and not ready to give up. The film also moves along at a rapid pace and that is always a plus.
