C.H.U.D. (Special Edition): Blu-Ray Review

chud

Arriving this week on Special Edition Blu-ray is the 1983 horror film, “C.H.U.D” which is the acronym for “Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller”.  Although not a big hit with critics or at the box office upon its’ initial theatrical release, “C.H.U.D” built a strong cult following on home video, this lead to the more comedic 1989 sequel “C.H.U.D II: Bud the C.H.U.D.”. Fans of the film will be very pleased with not only all the bonus features in this release but with also two versions of the film. You get a 2K transfer of the Integral cut and an HD presentation of the Limited Edition original theatrical cut.

I find “C.H.U.D.” to be much more comedic now than I did thirty years ago, but I still look at it as a fun late night helping of b-Movie fun. This is a definite must have for any “C.H.U.D.” lover.
