Doctor Detroit: Blu-Ray Review
Arriving this week on Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is the 1983 comedy classic, “Doctor Detroit”. Let me start off by saying that more than three decades later, I am still upset that we never got a “Doctor Detroit II: The Wrath of Mom”. Because the film was a box office disappointment, that sequel which was promised in the end credits never saw the light of day. Regardless, “Doctor Detroit” is still one of my favorite 80’s comedies.
Shout! Factory must agree with me, because they have given “Doctor Detroit” a Shout Select release. This is the first time the film has been released in Blu-ray in the US and even though it is light on new bonus features, I am happy to own it in HD. If you are a fan of Dan Aykroyd’s fun performance, you may want to pick up a copy for yourself.
