It’s Alive Trilogy: Blu-Ray Review
Larry Cohen fans have something to get excited about this week because the “It’s Alive” trilogy is now available in a new box set complete with 2K scans of all three films. “It’s Alive” ( 1974), “It Lives Again” (1978) and “It’s Alive III: Island of the Alive” (1987) are now available in beautiful HD. Although, I have never been a fan of the third film in the trilogy, the first two instalments are childhood favorites.
The first film (and of course the best) is packed with quite a few bonus features, including a featurette looking back at the trilogy. Scream Factory has recently brought us Cohen classics like “The Ambulance”, “The Winged Serpent”, “Full Moon High”, and now the “It’s Alive” series (which I am happiest about). I look forward to seeing what other Cohen classics they get their hands on in the future.
