Legally Blonde Collection: Blu-Ray Review

Before “legally Blonde 3” hits theaters early next year, Shout! Factory is brining you the “Legally Blonde” Blu-ray collection which is available this week.  When the first film arrived in theaters back in 2001, I doubt many people expected it to become a franchise, but it was a massive hit and it made Reese Witherspoon a star. It was impossible not to fall in love with her performance as Elle Woods, a fashionable California Blonde sorority sister who follows her ex-boyfriend to law school, which she somehow gets accepted into. Yep, it’s a totally far-fetched premise but Witherspoon sells it.

I can’t say that I enjoyed “Legally Blonde 2” as much as the original, but Witherspoon manages to make it at least watchable. Shout! Factory has delivered a beautiful new 4K scan of the first film. There are also new interviews with co-star Jessica Cauffiel for part 1 & 2.  If you are a fan of the “Legally Blonde” films (sorry, the 2009 direct-to-DVD spin-off “Legally Blondes” is not included), and don’t already own them on Blu-ray, you may want to pick this set up.
