Lionheart (Special Edition): Blu-Ray Review
Arriving this week on Special Edition Blu-ray is Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 1990 action film, “Lionheart”. This is considered by many of the star’s best films and I don’t disagree. Up until now, I had never seen the uncut version of the film, which was titled, “Leon” (the name of Van Damme’s character). The biggest differences are of the graphic nature. More blood and burnt flesh are what you will find. Because the picture quality fluctuates with the added material, I prefer watching the theatrical cut.
Fans of “Lionheart” will find a lot to love about this release. Not only do we get both cuts of the film, but the 47-minute featurette, “”Lionheart: The Inside Story” contains interviews with Van Damme and more. That is just one of three new featurettes included. If you are a fan of the Muscles from Brussels, then you are going to want to ad this to your collection.
