Rabid Dogs: Blu-Ray Review

Arriving on Blu-ray this week is “Rabid Dogs” (Enragés), courtesy of Scream Factory.  Éric Hannezo makes an impressive debut as both writer and director for this intense crime-thriller, that is a remake of the 1974 Mario Bava cult classic.

The story begins with a bank robbery that goes horribly wrong. People are killed and one of the four criminals is taken out in the process.  Desperate to escape, they take a woman hostage as well as a father and his child (who is in need of a kidney transplant).

Not everyone is going to survive this road-trip from hell and Lambert Wilson is absolutely fantastic as the father who fears for his child’s life.  “Rabid Dogs” never slows down and the film’s climatic twist really through me through a loop.  This is definitely a must see.
