The ‘Burbs (Collector’s Edition): Blu-Ray Review
Arriving this week on Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is Joe Dante’s 1989 black comedy, “The ‘Burbs”, starring Tom Hanks. Admittedly, I wasn’t a huge fan of this film when it was first released, however it has grown on me over the years. Although, Hanks is fine here, it is the supporting cast that makes “The ‘Burbs” enjoyable, most notably Bruce Dern, and the late Rick Ducommun.
Shout Factory has given us a new 2K transfer that looks absolutely-fantastic. Included in the release are new interviews with Joe Dante, Editor Marshall Harvey and Director of Photography John Hora. Also included is Dante’s original workprint with deleted and extended scenes. If you are a fan of this late-80’s classic, then you will want to ad this release to your collection.
