The Car: Blu-Ray Review
Before “Christine” and “The Wraith”, we had 1977’s killer car flick “The Car”. I know what you are going to say, “The Wraith” had Charlie Sheen driving, but you must remember, his character was a ghost/spirit. I am happy to say that “The Car” finally arrives on blu-ray this week, courtesy of Scream Factory.
If you have never seen this 70’s “Jaws” knock-off, now is the perfect time to give it a look. Set in small town Utah, a sleek black car, starts terrorizing the locals and running down anyone in its way (or even out of its way). Sheriff Wade Parent (James Brolin) and his deputies must figure out a way to stop the carnage. This is no ordinary car either. There is something super evil about it not to mention bulletproof.
“The Car” also sports a fantastic genre cast that includes John Marley (Deathdream), Ronny Cox (RoboCop), Kathleen Lloyd (It Lives Again), R.G. Armstrong (Evilspeak), Roy Jenson (Soylent Green), Melody Thomas Scott (Piranha), Kim Richards (Assault on Precinct 13) and Kyle Richards (Halloween). The HD transfer looks fantastic which will please fans of the film. There are also some great bonus features. Make sure to take “The Car” for a spin.
