The Creeping Garden: Blu-Ray Review
Arriving on Blu-ray/DVD/CD combo this week is the award-winning documentary about the extraordinary world of the plasmodial slime mould. The film was co-directed by the artist film-maker Tim Grabham (KanZeOn) and author Jasper Sharp, with a soundtrack composed by celebrated musician and producer Jim O’Rourke (Sonic Youth).
For those of you who are deeply fascinated by the world of science and the world around us, “The Creeping Garden” should be right up your alley. Although admittedly I was only mildly interested in the subject matter, I will say some of the footage captured on this living slime was absolutely stunning. Even though this release does include a DVD, the Blu-ray is the way to go. Fans of producer Jim O’Rourke will dig the included soundtrack CD. If you are a science geek, “The Creeping Garden” is something you will definitely want to include in your collection.
