The Hallow: Blu-Ray Review
Arriving on Blu-ray this week is “The Hallow”, which stars Joseph Mawle (“Game of Thrones”), Bojana Novakovic (“Drag Me to Hell”), and directed by visual stylist Corin Hardy. Despite the slow start, this film wound up impressing the hell out of me.
When conservationist Adam Hitchens (Mawle) is sent to Ireland to survey an area of forest, he brings along his wife Clare (Novakovic) and their new-born baby. Even though the locals try to warn the couple that the area is hallowed ground, Adam still heads into the forest and winds up drawing the attention of some very mean tree-like creatures. These creatures of course go ahead and terrorize the family.
“The Hallow” is totally creepy and that is mostly because Hardy really gives his directorial debut everything he’s got. The look of the creatures are really something quite cool and so is the transition Adam goes through in the film.
“The Hallow” is definitely worth checking out.
