The Walking Deceased: DVD Review
Arriving this week on DVD is the new zombie-comedy “The Walking Deceased”, and I am sorry to say that this zombie spoof is dead-on-arrival. There is absolutely nothing remotely funny about it. Much like many of this generation’s lame attempts at spoofs, the makers of “The Walking Deceased” borrow from multiple zombie tiles like “The Walking Dead”, “Warm Bodies”, “Zombieland”, “Shaun of the Dead”, and others.
The central spoofing here is that of “The Walking Dead” in which a former Sheriff wakes up from a coma to find that the world has been overrun with zombies. Sheriff Lincoln (Dave Sheridan) and his son Chris (who he keeps calling Carl) go on the road with a group of survivors looking for the Safe Haven Ranch. Once they find the ranch which is populated by a senior couple and their pot smoking daughter, the zombies soon follow.
“The Walking Deceased” is truly terrible and a torture to sit through. Avoid this thing like a zombie apocalypse.
