Three O’Clock High (Collector’s Edition): Blu-Ray Review

Earlier this year Ice Cube and Charlie Day co-starred in a truly wretched comedy called “Fist Fight”. That film was complete garbage.  It was also a rip-off of one of the most underrated high school films to come out of the 1980’s, “Three O’Clock High”.  While “Fist Fight” centered on a couple of teachers getting into a fight after school, the 1987 classic centered on two students.  “Three O’Clock High” is darkly comic plus the two leads, Casey Siemaszko and Richard Tyson absolutely own it. Tyson’s Buddy Revell is probably the scariest juvenile delinquent in cinematic history. Even if he looks like he is 29 years old.

I am so pleased that Shout Factory! Has decided to give “Three O’Clock High” a Collector’s Edition, I just wish the two stars were interviewed for the bonus content.  Thankfully we do get an interview with director Phil Joanou, plus screenwriters Richard Christian Matheson and Tom Szollosi.  If you are a fan of “Three O’Clock High”, you will most likely want to add this to your collection for its’ 30th anniversary.
