Uncanny: DVD Review
Arriving this week on DVD is the sci-fi film “Uncanny”, which stars Mark Webber, David Clayton Rogers, Lucy Griffiths, and directed by Matthew Leutwyler.
“Uncanny” is almost entirely set in the home/workshop of David Kressen (Webber), a genius who has created an advanced Artificial Intelligence named Adam (Rogers). Adam has had no other interaction with people other than David, but all that changes when Joy Andrews (Griffiths) enters the picture to write a piece on David and his creation. Soon the tension builds as David and Adam both develop feelings for their new guest.
Although nowhere near the level of Ex “Machina” which was released earlier this year, “Uncanny” still manages to be an intriguing film about A.I. The cast is great, especially Webber and Rogers and the writing is quite sharp. This is one worth checking out.
