Trick ‘r Treat (Collector’s Edition): Blu-Ray Review

Despite Warner Brothers decision to dump Michael Dougherty’s “Trick ‘r Treat” on home video in 2009, the horror anthology wound up receiving critical acclaim as-well-as becoming a cult hit.  The pumpkin-sack-head character Sam even became a horror Icon.  “Trick ‘r Treat” is one of my absolute favorite horror films of the past two decades and about six years ago, I even hosted a Halloween night theatrical screening of it here in Miami.  I always felt that the film needed to be seen on the big screen, as originally intended.

Of course, I already owned the 2009 Blu-ray but the new release from Scream Factory is a definite must have for any hardcore horror fan.  Michael Dougherty approved the new 2K transfer which is a plus, but what makes this release so special is the incredible amount of bonus features included.  I haven’t had a chance to go through them all, but trust me, I will be doing that soon. One of the new bonuses is a 2K scan of the original “Season’s Greetings” short. The Collector’s Edition of “Trick ‘r Treat” is available now, so make sure to grab your copy asap.
