Bank$tas: DVD Review
Arriving on DVD this week is the comedy “Bank$tas”, directed by Jeff Stephenson. The not-so-clever title combines Bankers and Gangsters if you haven’t figures that out yet. Much like title, the film itself is uninspired and quite stupid. Is there any movie out there that features Alan Thicke that isn’t corny?
“Bank$tas” centers on best friends Neal and Isaac, fresh out college and just landed their dream job at an investment bank. On the same day that they start their one month probation, they find out that their boss (Thicke) is planning a crooked student loan deal. With Isaac’s father being connected to the deal and Neal’s parents on the verge of losing their home, the two friends try to take down their new employer and expose him for the criminal that he is.
I didn’t expect much out of “Bank$tas”, but I figured the thing is only 80 minutes so I would give it a shot. There is nothing here worth recommending. Even the stunning former Supergirl Laura Vandervoort can’t make this thing less painful to watch.
