Braddock: Missing in Action III: Blu-Ray Review

Arriving on Blu-ray this week is the 1988’s “Braddock: Missing in Action III”, the sequel to “Missing in Action II” which was a prequel to “Missing in Action”. Chuck Norris returns at Col. James Braddock, and Chuck’s brother Arron Norris makes his directorial debut. They would team up again for six more films that include “Delta Force 2”, “The Hitman”, and “Sidekicks”. “Braddock” was the least financially successful film in the series upon its release. However fans of the films seem to have a fondness for the final film. I can’t say I love “Braddock” but I can say it is an adequate installment.

Twelve years after barely making it out of Vietnam alive, Colonel James Braddock (Chuck Norris), learns the wife he thought was dead, was still very much alive and that he also has a 12-year-old son. Because the United States won’t assist Braddock, he takes it upon himself to sneak into Communist Vietnam and bring back his family.

Unfortunately Vietnamese officer General Quoc (Aki Aleong) is standing in Braddock’s way and that never ends well. In true Norris fashion, he once again becomes a one-man-army, but this time, he is not only fighting to save his family, but also several dozen Vietnamese orphans.

One of the most memorable things about “Braddock: Missing in Action III” is the “Freedom Again” theme song by Ron Bloom which just feels so out of place. It’s hard not to laugh as soon as the song comes on. Aside from that, if you are a fan of the film and don’t own it already, then it might be worth grabbing.
