Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th: Blu-Ray Review
Just two years after its initial home video release, ” Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th” is getting a rerelease this week. Not having seen it when it was initially released back in 2013, I thought this would be the perfect time for me to give it a look. After all, I am a huge horror fan. “Crystal Lake Memories” was inspired by the 2006 book by Peter M. Bracke and I should point out that this documentary is 400 minutes long. No, that was not a typo, it is exactly 400 minutes. I had to put a full day aside just to watch the entire 2-disk release (with some breaks in between).
“Crystal Lake Memories” takes us through not only all ten “Friday the 13th” films from the original series, but also “Freddy vs Jason” and the “Friday the 13th Reboot. If you are a fan of Daniel Farrands “Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy”, you will most likely dig “Crystal Lake Memories” which he also directed. With tons of interviews from cast and crew of various films, there is a lot of ground covered. Corey Feldman narrates the documentary which is only fitting considering his version of the Tommy Jarvis character might be one of the most beloved in the series (not counting Jason or his mother of course).
If you are a “Friday the 13th” fan, then I highly recommend that you check out “Crystal Lake Memories”. It may be a whole lot of movie, but true fans can never get enough.
