June: DVD Review

june

Arriving on DVD this week is “June”, starring Casper Van Dien, Kennedy Brice, Eddie Jemison, Victoria Pratt, and directed by L. Gustavo Cooper (The Devil Incarnate) . At best, “June” is a watchable horror flick that doesn’t bring anything fresh to the table. Although it didn’t bore me, I did have trouble remembering much of the film within hours of seeing it.

Nine-year-old June (Brice) has been shuffled in and out of foster homes for years. She has a good heart but when she gets angry, bad things happen. When Lily (Pratt) and Dave (Van Dien) take June into their home, it looks like things might get better for her. Nice home, loving couple, what could go wrong? What Dave and Lilly don’t realize is that an ancient entity has possessed June and where she goes, trouble follows.

“June” is watchable but just not very good. However, I am always happy to see Jemison (Ocean’s Eleven series) on screen.
