Metallica: Through the Never: Movie Review
I am going to keep this review of “Metallica: Through the Never” short and sweet. Unless you are a fan of the group Metallica, there is absolutely no reason to head over to your local IMAX and check this out. Despite what the trailers show you, there really isn’t much of a narrative here. This is basically a “well shot” Metallica concert which cuts back and forth between the show and the group’s roadie (Dane DeHaan), who was sent on a mission to deliver gas to a stalled truck that was transporting a mysterious item that the band needs. The problem is, the city has gone mad and Trip (the roadie) must avoid the danger.
Even though “Matallica: Through the Never” looks great, not being a fan of the group’s music made it really tough for me to sit though. I seriously could not wait for it to end. The so-called narrative is not the least bit engaging which just made the experience all the more sufferable. Unless you LOVE Metallica, skip this trip through the Never, which felt more like the Never-ending.
