The Funhouse Massacre: Blu-Ray Review

funhousemassacre

Arriving this week on Blu-ray is Andy Palmer’s “The Funhouse Massacre”, courtesy of Scream Factory.   First off, I must say that the title and the cast is what sold me on this one.  What horror fan doesn’t want to watch a massacre take place in a funhouse?  The inclusion of Robert Englund, Courtney Gains and Clint Howard make it all the more interesting . Unfortunately only one of those three actors is in the film for more than a few minutes.

When a group of notorious serial killers escape from a secret asylum, they find their way to a new funhouse in which the performers recreate the escapee’s vicious crimes.  The first thing they do is kill off the performers and take their place in the funhouse. However, instead of scaring the patrons, they pick them off one by one.  Now a small group of friends must find their way out of this not-so-funhouse before they are killed too.

“The Funhouse Massacre” should have been a lot more fun than it actually was.  The cast is fine, including Jere Burns who plays Mental Manny, the leader of the maniacs.  This isn’t a terrible film, but it promises fun that it is just not able to deliver.
