The Binding: Blu-Ray Review
Arriving on Blu-ray this week is “The Binding”, written and directed by Gus Krieger. The film stars Amy Gumenick (who you might recognize as Cupid from TV’s “Arrow”) and Josh Heisler. They play a married couple who are going through some serious issues.
Sarah (Gumenick) is a young mother and faithful minister’s wife. Faith is important to her and she leads an idyllic home life. He faith is challenged when her husband Bram (Heisler) begins having horrific visions. These visions he believes are being delivered from God. He also believes God is speaking to him and telling him that he must kill his only child. This of course has Sarah more than a little worried. As the tension builds, Sarah must choose between her faith and her family.
“The Binding” is not going to be enjoyed by everyone. I feel that if you are very much into religious based horror, then you will most likely get more out of the experience. As for me, I haven’t always been a fan and I found “The Binding” to movie along quite slowly. I will say that Gumenick and Heisler are very good here and the film’s final act is quite strong. Aside from that, “The Binding” is simply just OK.
